

Three generations of Hatake family has been visiting us from Shiga and
Mie for over a quarter of century.
The grandchildren who were already skiing with their mother in the womb
are now in college. The couple has passion for photography, and in recent
years, they have gone overseas for photos.

He by himself comes all the way from Yamaguchi, sometimes up to a week, and his skiing does not show any age. He is well-known among us for using a black leather ski boots.

He comes all the time with a season pass along with his SUV. His started skiing after he turned 50, and quite unbelievably, snowboarding after turning 60.
With a doctor's advice, he does not consume any meat, but keeps a bottle
of whisky and shochu here.
He runs a real estate company in Otsu, Shiga.

He had switched from Toyota 4Runner to Nissan Estima Hybrid.

The couple initially met in a company ski club, and used to ski a lot at Happo. They started frequenting Tsugaike 20 years ago, where their daughter picked up skiing, and they have been a regular here sine then - along with skis and beers.

The couple started skiing after retiring, and eventually sold their home in Fujisawa and moved to nearby Omachishi.
They own impressive collections of plastic models and paintings, which
are extensive enough to be housed in a museum.

Mr. Kozuka has been coming to Country Joe every year after he got referred to us by the tourism center.
He works as a fortune teller. Originally, he worked as banker, but his
fortune telling was so accurate that he decided to switch into this profession.
He always looks for good weather when he comes here.

Mr. Ogata comes from Toyama in search for the powder snow every year.
He goes on many runs non-stop, and many people find it hard to believe
that he skis with a senior season pass.
He had another face of being a master of sea bream fishing, and very knowledgeable
with the recipes.
Possibly from the concern of health, he does not consume much meat, and can usually be found eating fish or pickles in the dining area.

This is a group of senior citizens who are in their 60s and 70s.
They all love climbing mountains.
They attempted to hike all the way up on March 13, but with inclement weather,
they decided to head back.

Older Mr. Fujita is in mid-70s and the younger one is almost 70 years of age. They both have been skiing for more than 50 years. The older brother usually skis in Northern Nagano, but he also frequents Tsugaike. He practices Shugendo (meditation in the holy mountain), and regularly goes in the mountain.

The couple often comes for backcountry skiing.
